Marie Curie Whole Hog Cross-Country Adventure Race

I contacted you last year about the Marie Curie Whole Hog Challenge  – a cross country obstacle race which has now become an annual event for Marie Curie Cancer Care, and we are now celebrating our third year!  The race, approximately 12km long, incorporates the challenge of the wild terrain of the Scottish countryside, and the warmth of a grand hog roast party.  It really is a fantastic adventure challenge for both experienced runners and those just looking for a unique experience.

I thought our event may be of interest to some of your club members and we would be delighted if you were able to join us – either in teams of three, or individual entrants.  I have attached our information pack which details the event, and if you would be able to circulate it amongst your members or post this on your website, I would be extremely grateful.  I can also provide hard copies of posters or information packs if you may find these more useful.  Online booking is also available at www.mariecurie.org.uk/wholehogbalfron.  Any assistance would be very much appreciated!  By helping us to promote The Marie Curie Whole Hog you will be ensuring that we can continue to provide high quality nursing, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.

The all terrain adventure race will be held at Balfron Estate, Glasgow, on Saturday 21st May 2011.  As an additional bonus, we will also be bringing the Whole Hog to Aberdeenshire for the very first this year on September 24th.  Details of this second event can be found at www.mariecurie.org.uk/wholehogmintlaw

If you would like any further information on The Marie Curie Whole Hog 2011 or on the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care, please do not hesitate to contact the Scottish Events Team on 0131 561 3963 or contact me at this email address [email protected]

Thank you so much for your support, and we would love to see you on the day!

With best wishes,

Nic
