Next Tuesday (2nd November), some of us are planning to go a bit further afield for our run. We are planning on getting the head torches out and going for a bit of a run “over the other side of the A1”.

The route will be mainly quiet roads and it is hoped that we can get about a nine mile run in.

If you want to come along then please remember to wear a reflective bib (these can still be bought from the club if you don’t already have one). Oh.. and remember to bring your torch!

If this is a success then it’s hoped that we could do this about once a month during the winter.

Obviously, if you want to just come along a do the town run then please do so J

London 2011

The club has one guaranteed entry for the Virgin London Marathon 2011 this year.
This is usually given to someone in the club who has entered the ballot for London and being unsuccessful - if more than one person is in this position, we do a draw to select who this will go to, so let Anne know as soon as possible if you have not managed to get a place.

Please see the attached invite from HELP to take part in their Goat’s Gallop Race.

This is a fantastic race and a good one for those into hill running.

The timing is ideal as those about to do marathons will have their legs well and truly back by then and the rest of us can use it as a guide to our fitness for the upcoming cross country races.

“This years Goat’s Gallop will be on 14th November starting at 10.30m and followed by lunch and prize giving at the Tyneside Tavern in Haddington.  Please circulate this information to your respective club members”.   Paddy McDonald

Some readers may be aware that the club site has been "done over".
Made to look a tad posher..

You may also notice that the backgroung photo is of Ian, George and
Stuart at a 10k a few years ago.

Here's what we want to try.. To keep the site "fresh" it would be nice
to change the backgroung photo every month or so.
If you have a photo that you think would look nice then please email
it to us. It doesn't have to be a race. It could even just be a nice
photo of Dunbar.
It doesn't even have to be a recent photo. If you have some old ones
then that's fine.

Don't worry if we don't show them straght away. But we will try and
get round to using as many as we can.

The Run And Become Tinto Hill Race - 13th November 2010

Important info for anyone wishing to do the Tinto Hill Race - and
remember it's also a championship counter.

Quite frankly it's a piece of p**s for those among us who've been up
Ben Nevis lately (Oooh err...)

Can you please note that this year's Tinto race is pre-entry only using the
online Sientries system ( This should be familiar
to anyone
has recently ran the Carnethy 5 race. The entries open at 9:00 this coming
Monday morning 4th October and will close when the limit of 250 has been
reached. There will be no entries taken on the day although the event
registration and number collection will be at Symington as usual. Can
you please
bring this to the attention of any of your club members who may be considering
entering the event.

The link to the entry page is

This only applies to the senior race, not the junior or fun run.
