Four Dunbar runners travelled to the Borders on Sunday to take part in the Hawick Half Marathon, a challenging course, taking in Clarilaw and Horsleyhill. Stuart Hay came in second overall in a time of 1:20:59, with Richard Taylor coming in 6th in 1:25:28 – taking three minutes off his previous best for the distance. Rhona Anderson defended her title as first lady, improving her time from last year and finishing 10th overall in 1:29:49, with Anne Hay coming in further down the field in 1:50:23.
The previous Sunday had seen Lee Curtis taking part in the difficult Ben Nevis race finishing in a creditable time of 2:23:43.
At the FreshnLo Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on the same Sunday, Brian Davidson achieved a personal best in the 10K with a time of 43:27, with Theresa Leslie finishing in 1:02:13. Suzanne McCullough finished her first Half Marathon in 2:03:39, with Katy Gardiner finishing in 2:14:04.
