Could Have Stayed at Home Eating Chocolate Eggs...

The Dumfries Marathon took place on Easter Sunday. The event started
outside the new DG One centre in Dumfries and headed out around the
surrounding countryside, before heading back to the finish by the
river, just a short distance from the starting point.

Stuart Hay finished in 8th place overall with a time of 3:07:49, with
Anne Hay finishing in 3:45:09, taking the prize for 2nd lady super
veteran.

All the runners enjoyed post-race refreshments provided by Dumfries
Council at DG One, which the runners were given use of before the
official opening of the centre to the public in the early summer.

On the same day, Steve and Mary Pattison braved the chilly weather to
take part in the North Tyneside 10K. The race commenced in North
Shields, following the coastal route, to finish in Whitley Bay. Steve
finished in a commendable time of 44:17 with Mary finishing in 53:31.

Also that day, Sheila Morrison, in preparation for the London
Marathon, ran the Alloa Round Table Half Marathon in 2:00:42. Again,
the runners were subjected to cold conditions, but that didn't deter
Sheila from putting in another good, steady run.

Yesterday Karen Page enjoyed a good run at the Welcome the World 5K at
Holyrood Park, her time of 24:36 standing her in good stead for the
Belhaven Best Dunbar Boundary Race on Saturday 5th April.
